SolvChem Credit Facility Covered by Austin & Houston Business Journals | Westlake

The Austin Business Journal and the Houston Business Journal both covered the SolvChem expanded senior credit facility this week — a transaction on which Westlake Securities served as exclusive financial advisor.
The transaction
Westlake Securities served as exclusive financial advisor to SolvChem, Inc. on an expanded senior credit facility provided by Amegy Bank, a division of Zions Bancorporation, N.A.
The expanded structure secures the capital SolvChem needs to fund new production capacity and support continued organic growth. SolvChem, headquartered in Pearland, Texas, is one of the state’s largest independent chemical distribution, blending, and packaging companies.
This marked Westlake’s second engagement with the SolvChem team.

Coverage in both markets in the same week is a reasonable proxy for where Texas middle-market activity is concentrated right now. The SolvChem facility was one of five Houston transactions Westlake closed within an eight-week stretch — a pace that reflects real demand from founder-owned companies for growth capital that doesn’t require selling the business.
Expanded credit facilities are often the quieter alternative to a recapitalization or a sale. When an owner needs capital for capacity and isn’t ready to give up equity, the right lender relationship and the right structure can fund the next phase without changing who owns the company. That’s the work our Capital Placements team does.
Jon D’Andrea, Managing Director, led the engagement for Westlake Securities.
