Please join us in welcoming Matt Gase to the Westlake family as our new Executive in Residence and Advisory Board member.
Matt brings a wealth of experience, insight, and leadership to Westlake. Until recently, Matt Gase was working with the founders of Franklin Barbecue to create and market a range of Franklin Barbecue-branded grilling and barbecue products.
Prior to Franklin, Matt was CEO of two innovative food companies: Lantana Foods, a leader in alternative bean hummus, and Stubb’s Legendary Bar-B-Q, a leading premium barbecue sauce, marinade, and spice rub brand in the U.S. (strategically acquired by McCormick). Both companies were sold to strategic acquirers under his watch. Matt also led Commemorative Brands, a scholastic consumer products company. And prior to that, Matt was focused on building businesses and brands for CPG companies such as ConAgra Foods, Ralston Purina, and Continental Baking. His career has taken him across the US, as well as Asia and Australia.
Matt currently serves on several CPG company boards and is an advisor to many more. He earned a BGS degree from the University of Michigan and an MBA from Loyola Marymount University.
We are excited to have Matt working with us. With over 30 years of executive experience in the Food & Beverage/CPG industry, Matt has successfully steered companies through various stages of growth, transformation, and liquidity events. He is known for driving innovation, expanding market reach, and fostering exceptional organizational outcomes for those companies Matt has led.
As Executive in Residence, Matt will be leveraging his network and skillset to further the goals of both Westlake Securities and Westlake Asset Management.
Welcome, Matt! We are honored to have you on the team.
